Kneeling Lat Stretch

A floor stretch to lengthen the latissimus dorsi and improve shoulder mobility.

How to do it

  1. Kneel and sit hips back on heels.
  2. Reach both arms forward, palms on floor.
  3. Push chest toward the ground.
  4. Hold the stretch, focusing on the long side body.
  5. Optionally shift hands to each side for more stretch.

Form cues

  • Keep arms straight
  • Reach fingertips forward
  • Drop chest down
  • Relax neck and shoulders

Common mistakes

  • Arching lower back excessively
  • Bending elbows too much
  • Letting hips lift off heels
  • Tensing shoulders

Breathing

Inhale deeply as you reach forward, exhale as you sink deeper into the stretch.
