Seated Bent Over Back Stretch

A static stretch performed while seated, bending forward to lengthen the lower and upper back muscles.

How to do it

  1. Sit comfortably on the floor, legs extended or crossed.
  2. Hinge forward at the hips, keeping back relaxed.
  3. Let arms reach forward toward feet or floor.
  4. Lower your chest toward your knees, breathing deeply.
  5. Hold the stretch and relax into the position.

  • Relax neck

  • Rounding excessively
  • Forcing stretch
  • Holding breath

Inhale before bending, exhale as you fold forward.
