Calf Stretch with Strap

A seated stretch using a strap or resistance band to elongate the calf muscles.

How to do it

  1. Sit with legs extended on the floor.
  2. Loop a strap around the ball of one foot.
  3. Hold strap ends and gently pull foot towards you.
  4. Keep the knee straight and hold for desired time.
  5. Switch sides and repeat.

  • Keep knee straight
  • Flex foot toward you
  • Gentle pull, avoid jerking
  • Sit tall

Common mistakes

  • Bending knee
  • Pulling too hard
  • Letting back round

Breathing

Breathe deeply and steadily throughout stretch; exhale gently as you deepen the stretch.
