Standing Knee Raise Stretch

A stretch that targets the hip flexors and glutes by pulling one knee toward the chest while standing.

How to do it

  1. Stand tall with feet together.
  2. Lift one knee toward your chest.
  3. Grasp your knee with both hands.
  4. Pull the knee gently toward your chest, feeling the stretch.
  5. Hold, then lower and repeat on the opposite leg.

Form cues

  • Keep torso upright
  • Engage core
  • Use arms to pull knee gently
  • Do not lean back

Common mistakes

  • Rounding shoulders
  • Pulling too forcefully
  • Losing balance

Breathing

Exhale as you pull the knee up, inhale as you release.
